A nostalgic Spanish comedy set in 1931. Fernando, a deserter from the Spanish Army hides in a country house with an elderly man and his four beautiful daughters. During his sojourn at the house he becomes romantically entangled with all of the various daughters, but must eventually decide which of the daughters he intends to marry. Winner of the Best Foreign Film Oscar.
