In 1947, wealthy American couple Port and Kit Moresby, accompanied by their friend George Tunner, arrive in North Africa for a lengthy visit, which they hope will revitalise their marriage. But in the bleak desert terrain Port soon becomes wary of George's interest in his wife. Further complications ensue.
