<p>Neil McNeil was born in Greenock, Clydeside in 1940. he was a student at Ruskin between 1964-66 on the Diploma in Economics & Political Science. He was later to co-found the quarterly magazine, Strath (1972-76), which introduced a number of new poets to a readership. He was a university lecturer up until 1992 which he left to take up a local government post within Scotland; then taking early retirement in 1997 to become a full-time writer.</p>
