Burgess's translation of this 19th century French classic about a swordsman-poet with the nose too large to be taken seriously was first acclaimed in the 1985 Royal Shakespeare Company production with Derek Jacobi as Cyrano. It is re-issued here to coincide with a major revival of the play starring Stephen Rea.
