DNA is an important tool in bringing criminals to justice, but television dramas often glamorise and simplify the world of forensics. Also a number of high profile cases have put forensic science itself under the microscope.Morland Sanders investigates impact of the 2012 closure of Britain’s Forensic Science Service to be replaced with a police forensic unit. Many in the scientific community feel that the ultimate victim will be justice itself. Tonight also looks at the use of a somewhat controversial DNA analysis technique known as Low Copy Number DNA, where scientists can examine the most miniscule amount of DNA and return a result - summarised from ITV website.
