From 1 November 2010, the nine million people who work with children or vulnerable adults in the UK have to be vetted and put on a new government database. Jeremy Vine asks whether the system will work, who will decide if a worker is safe, and will the system deter paedophiles? Vine talks to several people including someone who was abused as a youngster, someone who was accused of abusing youngsters in his care, and those involved in setting up the new database. There is also a panel discussion of experts with various points of view.
