<br/><br/> The story of Rough Trade, an independent record label, is told from 1976 until the 2000s. Geoff Travis founded the company and it was successful. However a rift between distribution and production meant that the shop kept the name but split from  production. In 1991 Travis lost the name, but kept on working as a record label. After signing the Strokes, Geoff and Jeanette his business partner, bought back the Rough Trade name. Now they are still successful and have signed Pulp, the Libertines and  Duffy.
