<p>Jackie Litherland is a former student of Ruskin College and a journalist and poet. She came to Ruskin on a National Union of Journalists scholarship in 1984, then completed her degree at University College, London. She was the long-time partner of Barry MacSweeney, poet, before his death in 2000.</p>
