<p>Roger Undy originally worked as a fitter before entering academic life at Ruskin in 1967 as mature student on a TUC scholarship and later at Wadham College on state scholarship for mature students. In 1977 he was elected Fellow in Industrial Relations at Templeton College. He is now University Reader in Management Studies and Director of the Oxford Institute in Employee Relations (OXIFER).</p>
