<p>Leslie MacFarlane is a former tutor in politics at Ruskin College. He is also Emeritus Fellow at St John's College, Oxford. Before teaching at Ruskin, MacFarlane was a trade unionist, then went to evening classes at LSE and taught for the Workers' Educational Association.</p>
