520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Advocates are no longer dependent on the state - the Crown Prosecution Service employs its own barristers. Thus there is less work and less money for the self-employed briefs. This episode asks whether standards have declined or justice is at risk as a result. We see one independent barrister and one CPS barrister both fight their cases successfully. We also see a black female law graduate apply for a scholarship overseas as a route to getting a pupillage, and an Asian female law graduate, who is working in a legal charity, apply to get a pupillage.
