Summary, etc. |
Part 3. Harry Wright began working in Mexico from the 1930s onward, eventually setting up business there and becoming a millionaire. He filmed the indigenous tribes, thereby preserving their culture for posterity and the 1930s colour footage is shown here. Later when his first wife died, Harry married a Mexican film star. He probably met her in the film studio that was built on the land he owned next to his golf club. By the 1940s, both US tourism and the Mexican film industry were flourishing. |

Summary, etc. |
Part 4: Several 1930s colour films are discussed and shown, mostly by amateurs. Jack Cardiff was a professional who filmed the Bedouins in Jordan and volcanoes in Italy in 1936. The Berlin Olympics 1936 are shown as propaganda tool of the Nazis. However J.H. Brown found anti-semitism in 1937 in Germany, as did Jacob Hertz and his family who cruised through Germany en route to Poland and Paul Clovis, an American singer who toured Germany. Footage of Hitler's set, filmed by Eva Braun, Hitler's mistress is then shown, followed by the happy Polish Jewish community which was later destroyed, then the Jewish settlements in South America. Finally we see 1939 London preparing for war. |
