In 1959, jazz reached white Americans and helped the cause for racial integration which was policy after the Civil Rights Bill but opposed by many. Four albums recorded in 1959 became instant successes and have remained best sellers ever since. These were Dave Brubeck's Time out, Miles Davis's Kind of blue, Charles Mingus's Mingus ah um and Ornette Coleman's The shape of jazz to come. There are many jazz clips and interviews with Brubeck, Coleman, Herbie Hancock and others.
